I think you make an important point Mr Hawkes despite it responding to the wrong person.

Firstly one must ask why China is doing this?

Secondly as a country rich in natural resources one may also ask why the UK has the highest energy costs in the world?

The first is simple. It comes down to self sufficiency, cost and lastly air quality.

As for the UK, that is down to Thatcher and the privatisation model used. Of course green taxes have not helped but irrespective of the energy we produce we sill buy a huge quantity on the international market and that price is going nowhere but up presently.
