VAT will mean more children that would have gone to private schools going to state schools in the same way that the closure of Grammar schools did.

But grammar schools were and are  state schools!  It makes no sense to say that the closure of grammar schools led to more children going to state schools. What it did mean was that most children went and  go to comprehensive schools.
As to the issue of VAT on private schools fees you seem to criticise parents who have ‘the advantage of money’ and so can relocate to an area with good state schools and/or pay for private tuition but what about ‘the advantage of money’ that allows parents to buy a private education for their children. Im not saying either is right or wrong, just that your argument is inconsistent.
