Ruth, thanks for drawing attention to this report. Our council will say they support most if not all of these measures but it is evident that a lot more could still be done. Box ticking never was a substitute for a long term strategy.

An easy win would be to provide more cycle parking around the High Street (and the mainline and tube stations).  It’s good that more people are using their bikes but I find I have to search ever further to find somewhere to park mine.

It’s interesting also that despite the furore over the Exchange expanding their rooftop car park when H&M was built they can’t fill it. One result has been their support for the Palmhouse so they can get some return on having invested in more car parking.
