Thank you Caroline. Given the magnitude of the closure's impact on major road networks running in and out of West London, I am surprised that none of the TfL Board were there, particularly as they receive £16,000-£20,000 for their position and free transport around much of London. Sadiq Khan appointed himself as Chair, and other board members include Bronwen Handyside who amongst other things, is the Chair of Unite's London Area Activist Committee, also active on Unite's Regional Women's Committee, and Keep our NHS Public campaign. Another lady board member represents "inclusivity" so perhaps she and Bronwen might explain why vital bus routes are not being extended for an ageing population and the disabled, or anyone who needs medical care from increasingly difficult to reach centres. If someone dies as a result of this failure, should TfL be held responsible? Perhaps the board could donate their remuneration towards the repairs? |
