I have copied an pasted these comments on last night's meetings from another forum.... TFL was given responsibility for the bridge by H& F council about three weeks ago and that it was found to be repairable. H &F not only failed to attend, they had not replied to any emails or calls Zac and his team had made about the open meeting. Apparently this is not unusual. TFL's bridge project delivery expert - Nick (?) Spoke and answered questions and the more the bridge is surveyed the more issues are being found. The process is that these findings and initial early costs will be published in August. Then that goes to tender. Then the works begin. One resident said they spoke to Mott McDonald and were told the actual repairs should take around 18 months - so the 3 years seemed like lots of administration. TFL assured the attendees he would ensure the process took as little time as possible. The bus guy said they were doing surveys - people were furious at that...and one resident said - listen to us, look at the petition. The bus guy said he'd seen the 800 signatures - he was corrected and told it was now over 1000. Another resident said changes were made quickly in April without a survey, so should be made quickly now. Zac asked the bus guy if he would commit to reviewing and changing the 209 quickly. He didn't answer and Zac said- just say yes. He did then say yes, but I didn't believe him. See the full lot at... http://tangytango.proboards.com/thread/9960/hammersmith-bridge-closure?page=47 |
