(I had to cut and paste that!) That's the Icelandic volcano which stopped air travel almost nine years ago to the day and about 20 countries closed their airspace. Millions of passengers were inconvenienced. Skype is useful for keeping in touch with family overseas and Facetime is even easier for the non-techies like me. You can have meetings using teleconferencing and there was a sharp increase in interest in this at the time. Eyjafjallajökull is a small volcano and I understand that there is a bigger one which they are expecting to erupt. They are making preparations in Iceland but will we be taken by surprise? |
