| Jonathan, you want to give Andy Burnham a chance to set out his 'policy priorities'. He has been campaigning for months to become prime minister. If he had any policies, don't you think he would have told us by now? All we have been given is a series of flip-flops. For example, last September he said that politicians had to ' get beyond this thing of being in hock to the bond markets', but two weeks ago he insisted he would not ignore the bond markets. Last September he also said he would like to see the UK rejoining the EU in his lifetime, but a few weeks ago he said he did not wish to 'rerun the Brexit arguments'. During a hustings event he said that he would 'stick by the WASPI women because they deserve some recompense for the unfairness', but recently a spokesperson clarified that he 'accepts the final decision' of the government not to grant compensation. Do these flip-flops remind you of anyone? |
