| "David, are you serious about Jimmy Clitheroe in Hotham Rd?" Indeed so. It was, let's say, a surprise at about 8.30 in the morning. 1972, I think. He died mid-1973. He shouted to me over the road, very close to the building which was, I think, sometimes used by the BBC as a rehearsal studio*. He was in the school uniform, and seemed to be made up. He did not look that well. He died mid-1973, an accidental death. * Putney Ballroom, 1 Hotham Road, SW15 1QS. Also called Hotham Hall, now flats. |
