Hello Richard, It is very fair and accurate, Richard. Not a mention of people with mobility problems or on mobility scooters... Yesterday we ventured into Putney High Street (a very rare thing of late). Werter Road was a very long queue of traffic, the High Street was at a standstill. We could hear the siren of an emergency vehicle and it was not getting any nearer. It must have taken the ambulance a good 8 to 10 minutes to pass the junction with Werter Road. It just represents the lack of safety for all. The "redesigning traffic lanes to reduce congestion" is utopia and wishful thinking on the part of the Council. Perhaps they are trying to convince us that it is true. In reality, traffic in Putney has become a total nightmare therefore it is better to avoid Putney altogether. All in all, very short-sighted and preposterous changes. |
