| The more I think about this appointment, the more bizarre it seems to me. Mandelson has a huge ego, as does Trump, so I think there could be serious discord between them. Mandelson was also scathing about Trump's ethos with regard to trade during his first presidency, even calling him a bully. Will the arrogant peer eat humble pie and apologise? Has Trump forgotten? I think not. There is a very good article in the Politico today, part of which is below: "However, for Mandelson to make progress, Trump would have to forgive him for condemning the past and future president’s America First approach to trade in a 2018 in a 2018 article.
