| As Transport Secretary, Ms Greening squandered £40m (our cash) on flawed tenders for the West Coast Rail Link, despite an Economics degree and an MBA. Following her sideways demotion to DfID, she doubled our aid budget to Pakistan, and continues to fund dodgy regimes, despite vigorous denials to the contrary. On her watch, Putney has seen a proliferation of gambling in the High Street, increased pollution, uncontrolled planning, and the people taking the conservators and the Council to court. During her brief flirtation with school governorship at Elliott, she saw her pupils siphoned into portakabins from a dangerous and neglected building, and signed off the Section 77 Application to Michael Gove for the sale of the care home and playing fields to party donors Barratt. She failed to ensure that the Council sought central government funding from the Priority Schools Building Programme, which they did for Chestnut Grove Academy in Balham. She has had no positive impact on Heathrow, despite early promises, and frankly no visible positive impact on Putney, although she did open a post office in Wandsworth High Street. She failed to vote on Syria, chatting in a back room about Rwanda, and was "absent" for the vote on gagging laws. We are now revving up for another electoral ordeal, where we will be allowed to vote for selected party members, who will promise much before, and deliver little after the ballot box. The cosmetic exercise of putting a few females into power is old hat and fools no one. We had Blair's babes and now Cameron's cuties - nothing will change. These women know nothing of struggling onto the 14 bus with a buggie, or worrying about the gas bill in January. Tweaking the team, false promises and bragging in order to gain votes is not what is required.
