I'm very pleased that the barrier will stay closed, as inevitably a side-effect would be to would aid the rat run that already exists through Richmond Park.

I looked at the link you provided, Adam, but I'm not sure where she suggested opening the barrier: is it implicitly in this bit: "better links for Roehampton to Barnes Station and ASDA, especially for people who live further into the estate and are not as close to Roehampton Lane would really help, so I'm hoping we can progress these ideas"?

Oh, and it was almost comical that she refers several times at the beginning to "road tax" - when road tax was abolished three-quarters of a century ago? It's now Vehicle Excise Duty - and this isn't nit-picking since it is actually an anti-pollution tax: the more your car pours out COs, NOx etc, the higher it is.
