There was also the 626 (Acton Market Place - Clapham Junction) which went via Putney, so there were four trolleybus routes. The 630 (West Croydon - near Willesden Junction, as the northern terminal point was quaintly called) was the longest London trolleybus route of all. I remember riding over the bridge on one at the front of the top deck as a toddler, just before the war. I went to the magnificent Regal (where the Odeon now stands) for the first time in 1941, and saw Target for Tonight. Memories, ouch! |
