Apart from those Simon mentioned, the emergency services should be the only people with a right to enter anyone's property but the reality is that there are dozens of different agencies that have that right from census workers to Utility companies to HM Customs & Excise. Councils have powers to enforce 1,043 regulations including, for example, inspecting foster carers and making sure new buildings do not break regulations and can enter your property without permission or a warrant.

It is disturbing how transparent every detail of our lives has become to those in government who want to know and the hundreds of thousands of people legally entitled to see those details.
