| The thing that concerns me most is that the excuses Cllr Maddan was coming up with on this thread are identical to those made by the town hall almost exactly a year ago - read that letter of 21 August 2009 here as a pdf: http://www.stuartking.net/blog/files/councilpbridge.pdf So one year on, we're still watching as the council and Thames Water blame each other, avoid responsibility and let the bridge become even more of an embarrassment to Putney. I struggle to understand how the ruts in the road surface - which are surely caused on warm days when heavy buses displace the hot, soft tarmac - are related to whether there are leaking pipes in the bridge structure. And while the problems on the north-bound side may have been patched (still not even) the ruts on the south-bound lane, especially by the newsagents/former public convenience, have not been. |
