I love this idea. Utterly bonkers, but lovely. "Putney Hill is a perfect approach for a tunnel: just keep on going down." Unfortunately, according to my rough calculations, the natural angle of Putney Hill takes it right into the railway line just over URR. You'd have to go quite a bit steeper to give enough space for a tunnel that could take vehicles the height of a double-decker bus and be strong enough to handle the 4 train lines above it. |
