Based on the threads below maybe now is the time to share my plans. Eliminating the traffic from Putney High Street will make it an infinitely more pleasant environment. Problem is that it is apparently a busy and essential traffic route. But there is a solution. A tunnel from the junction of the URR and Putney Hill, resurfacing by St Mary's Church [Plan A] or Fulham High Street [Plan B]. Putney Hill is a perfect approach for a tunnel: just keep on going down. The High Street can then be pedestrianised, and renamed Putney Boulevard. |
