Just to return to the original query.  EDF is simply repairing/replacing a 'switch'.  Which needed a lorry with a crane to deliver.  It arrived this weekend and they've been installing it since.  I think the old machinery was probably worn out and outdated.  They are aware that the whole thing will be relocated when the hospital site is finally dealt with.  Presumably sometime in the far distant future as far as they're concerned as absolutely nothing seems to be happening there.
