One of the (BBC) news reports on R4 this morning said the BBC has insurance for these eventualities. Probably wouldn't cover five billion of dollars in compensation but that seems an unrealistic amount. However, it's likely it would cover legal fees. I suspect the main aim would be to get a ruling that the Florida court doesn't have jurisdiction then, if they were to lose that, look at a settlement. I suppose in reality the strategy will be determined by the insurance company who will be footing most of the bill? |
