Hello Steven, 

In response to your post of 9/11/25 at 21:43 hs:

1.  I think many people defend the BBC as a matter of principle.  The "obvious evidence of bias" was a very short extract (perhaps 1 1/2 minutes) of an hour long programme.  As I was told when copy-pasting the two paragraphs of Trump's speech, "they are taken out of context".  Perhaps.  But we do not know in which context the video was aired.  The programme is no longer available on iPlayer so we cannot corroborate it. 

2.  To paraphrase what you said, "In the case of Trump they [his followers] believe he did not incite a riot, no matter what he actually said, so the programme which gives this impression is entirely unjustified in their eyes".

3.  Could you kindly explain to me what you understand by fake news, please?

4.  It is interesting that some people see the BBC as biased in favour of the "left-wing" while at the same time others maintain it is biased in favour of the "right-wing".  Interesting how the BBC can be both......

5.  I do not agree that the Panorama programme mislead its viewers because I did not see the programme last year, it is no longer available on iPlayer and the only thing we have about it is a 1 1/2 minutes video.......  Wow!

5.  Yes, the BBC is a publicly funded broadcaster (thank goodness) and its former director general was strongly supported by Johnson.  Left wing bias?
