I see the programme was made by an independent production company, October Films Ltd, and a report was compiled using an external, independent adviser to the board, Michael Prescott. Perhaps the use of  too many external resources gives the BB.C management a control problem?

I can see no reason or excuse for the BBC to condone this editing; Trump’s pardoning of the Jan 6 hooligans who threatened Pence, Pelosi, other members of Congress and the police guarding them provides all the information one needs about his distain for democracy, and BBC News has also shown a number of his speeches live (unedited) with his nonsense ramblings about stuff - one can see why editors cut his speeches but they should perhaps take care not to mislead.

It reminds we of Armstrong or Aldrin (forgotten whch) saying in a TV interview "we didn’t go to the Moon [again after the Apollo missions finished]" and the moon landing conspiracy theorists always removing the bit in brackets ...

Still NYC, New Jersey and Virginia don't seem too enamoured with Mr T judging by yesterday's election results ...
