Mr Brigo

"Firstly the 36,000 are not coming here legally and we have a right to determine who we let abide here."

Well they immediately get locked up in hotels until a decision is made on whether they can stay. So surely that is the right to determine being exercised"?

But what do we do with them when the right to abide here is not given ?

"Secondly most of these 36,000 are from cultures alien to those of the majority of British citizens and many display this by the crimes they commit when they arrive."

Are you claiming that they do come from cultures with beliefs and norms of behaviour not much different to our own ?

I don't think so and nor do I think that many of them are running from unlawful or unreasonable persecution in their country of origin.

They might want 'a better life'.

Fair dos but it is our decision to make as to whether we should be responsible for offering such to them, balanced against the risk some might pose.

For as to crimes committed by certain individuals who arrive illegally by dinghy you might read this -

https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/news/2023/01/26/horrific-murder-in-bournemouth-shows-how-illegal-asylum-abuse-threatens-your-safety/.

Perhaps not a large percentage but why would they choose to behave in this dreadful manner ?

And for example as reported in the Independent -

"An asylum seeker who was seen dancing and laughing after stabbing a hotel worker 23 times on a railway station platform has been found guilty of murder.

Deng Chol Majek, originally from Sudan, was described by prosecutors as “utterly callous” after he launched a frenzied attack on Rhiannon Whyte on 20 October last year.

Whyte had finished work at 11pm at the Park Inn Hotel in Walsall, in the West Midlands, when Majek “tracked” her on foot to the nearby Bescot Stadium station. He inflicted 19 wounds to her head, including a fatal brain-stem injury".

And reported in MailOnline -

"An investigation by this newspaper has revealed that at least 312 asylum seekers have been charged with an astonishing 708 alleged criminal offences in just three years – including rape, sexual assault, attacking emergency workers and theft".

To some, your support for illegal immigrants might be seen as compassionate and commendable.

To others it is either naïve or simply shows provocative self-aggrandisement.
