The music at the Proms is very international, as is the audience, so hardly surprising that there'd be a lot of EU flags alongside Union Flags. I suppose the music is mainly European (I'm including the UK as part of the continent of Europe) with some from American and elsewhere. This year we've been sat next to people from Germany and Australia amongst other nationalities. Often there's a correlation between the language many of the audience are speaking and the nationality of the composer/s's music being played. |
