Ms Holliday 'I agree that more training courses as well as apprenticeships should be offered'. You seem to be suggesting that thefts such as these are carried out by people who are too unskilled to get a wage paying job and thus have to steal to survive. My guess would be that they are feckless, lazy b&st&rds who find stealing a better way of getting what they want than working for the money to buy it. A sign of the times. Security at places where such actions take place should be tightened. Most of the so-called security staff in my experience are big hefty blokes in overcoats who could well step in and take these toerags down. If they are then threatened with criminal charges for assault their employers should stand by them and call the thieves' bluff saying "see you in court". Doubt if the thieves have the nous nor financial means to go this route. If these anti-social actions and attitudes are not stamped on society is well on its way down a very slippery slope. |
