The worst of it was her typically corporate non-apology apology. For example, she said at one point yesterday that she was sorry “for all that the subpostmasters and their families have suffered.” Not, please note, that she was sorry for all the suffering inflicted on the subpostmasters and their families by her organisation - unless we forget, the organisation she was in charge of - but which was somehow inflicted by someone or something else. Crocodile tears is indeed the right description. |
