Interesting to read in Rowan Moore's Notebook in today's Observer that, in deciding to allow the horrible 72 Upper Ground monster to be built, the government reckoned the (unproven) economic benefits of the building outweighed any visual harm it caused. On the other hand, in refusing permission to build a sustainable energy solar farm in Northamptonshire, it decided exactly the opposite. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/series/observer-notebook/2024/mar/23/ |
