| ‘Which side is in the wrong and which side they support.’ I think you may be reducing this to an overly simplistic and binary choice John, when it is far more complicated than that; it is possible to hold opposing and contradictory thoughts about all sides involved. I think what many people find so distressing is the scale of damage and death caused to innocent people on both sides, and see the path of violence as one that ultimately will not lead to a positive outcome; more likely the complete opposite. I don’t think one can bomb their way to peace, it will have to be through other means. In the meantime, I would certainly urge all parties involved to enter into a ceasefire so that a way forward can be found; and I would be supportive of any representative that expressed that view. |
