Merton Council sold the freehold of the golf course to Wimbledon tennis over 20 years ago.
The golf club was a sitting tenant with a lease valud for nearly 40 years at the time.
The tennis has bought the remaining years of the lease from the golf members at about £80k per member.
As far as I'm aware none of the development affects Wimbledon Park itself that is managed by Wandsworth.
But as always I stand to be corrected
