I had never heard of Putney until I moved to London at the beginning of the 1980s. My husband was staying with friends in Clapham who said the 2 places they would like to live in London were Highgate and Putney. It is very hard when you are trying to move to London and you don’t know anywhere. Anyway we have never regretted our move to Putney and have been very happy here. One thing I disagree with, is when people say Putney is like being in the countryside, just because it has a a Heath and a Common. No it’s not, I have lived in the countryside and Putney is nothing like it. |
