If someone revs their engine behind me when I am cycling legally, or toots their horn, I am usually so surprised that I immediately stop in the middle of the road to gather my wits and calm down and then I check my bike is OK, very slowly and carefully. Then I will turn around to observe if there was a problem with the car or the driver, also taking note of their reg number and possibly quickly taking a photo as a record, before going to the front of their car to politely enquire what the issue was that made them take such action? On occasion I have noticed that the red-faced man driving the car appeared to be having a heart attack which was causing him to sound the horn continuously while being unable to speak. I stayed long enough to be sure that he was in fact not dying of a heart attack before continuing on my way. It pays to stay safe
