I agree, Jonathan. Here’s another accident question.  I have mentioned what happened to me before.  Last year at the bus station end of Chelverton Rd, I crossed the road behind a car which was last in the queue for Putney High Street.  The driver wasn’t even waiting for the lights to change, he was waiting to pick up his friend.  I saw the friend approach the car, thinking he was going to get in the passenger side, but the driver pranked him and started to reverse at speed towards me. It was, without exaggeration, a death defying moment and I had to leap on the pavement.  Someone shouted “you nearly knocked her over”. Anyway the driver and friend said it was my fault for walking behind the car.  I replied one of the first things you learn in driving lessons, is “mirror, signal, manoeuvre”, which they hadn’t done.  Also Chelverton Rd is one way, they shouldn’t have reversed.  I don’t think it was my fault?
