I assume Simon the term time only service was brought in by the University because the TFL operated routes were not sufficient.

In fact TFL withdrew the 72 route to Hammersmith Bridge when the bridge closed but was still crossable by pedestrians.

It's been a while since I used the 72 - but as stated in the link below they were often full.

Local people need more say regarding services - I'm not sure TFL ears are ready to listen - yet!
