This seems to be taking a very long time for some. Many elderly people do not use mobile phones in the way that younger people use them. Just because they have one does not mean that a) they keep it charged and b) keep it on. Let alone know how to use it. Very often it was bought to use when they went out. The automatic message service on the landline can be difficult to decipher especially if you are hard of hearing or can't write down the info because you can't see very well. Please look out for your elderly friends and relatives. I've heard of several people having been sent text messages and not having received them and also the letter sent by the NHS tells people to use a website to make their appointment for the jab. We have also been told not to contact our GPs' surgeries as they are so busy. Many people are unhappy travelling by public transport. |
