Michael, some primary schools use google classroom. So I assume in most cases a browser with keyboard would be sufficient. You are right about the security and asset management issues when it comes to laptops. I suspect the maintenance and overhead costs will quickly grow greater than the actual hardware. I assume the government figures covers donated laptop etc. It would be interesting to get some actual details on what has actually been delivered, not that I do not trust the government figures. But all require network access. Now if only one of the parties had an actually policy on broadband access..... It is crazy in 2020 there is no real IT policy for UK schools. Looking at some of the links I sent the UK is lagging behind again. |
