| Don't forget that some shops sell items as loss leaders to get the punters in. The supermarkets definitely do this with fresh milk. Once in the shop there may be the smell of freshly baked croissants being deliberately blown into the store. Basics are deliberately placed in several completely different directions so that you pass other temptations on the way. So you only went in milk for breakfast and didn't bring a bag and you end up leaving having had to buy a bag or two! It's called marketing and there are lots of tricks. So it isn't all that simple. No1: Never go shopping on an empty stomach! |
