I actually spoke to manager in Accessorize yesterday who told me that they are closing due to the landlord not renewing their lease. They tried to negotiate with them but sadly this was no successful. Contrary to belief, the manager told me that Putney Accessorize was really busy and doing very well so are very disappointed to be forced to close.
She said they would try looking for alternative premises so hopefully they will return to our high street in not too distant future.
Personally, I was really disappointed to hear that a shop I used regularly on the high street is being forced to close by landlords not renewing leases.
There are enough empty shops without taking one away that actually wants to stay and is doing well!
