I was under the impression that it was New Age nonsense but it seems I was wrong (I must have been confusing it with homeopathy and other stuff): the BMJ reported a large-scale randomised controlled trial a couple of years ago which concluded (http://tinyurl.com/ycgqgp7):
"One to one lessons in the Alexander technique from registered teachers have long term benefits for patients with chronic back pain. Six lessons followed by exercise prescription were nearly as effective as 24 lessons."
Don't know any local practitioners, though. |
