It is good to have laws enforcing dog owners to bag the dog poo, but what happens after that? Yesterday my friend's grandson had his scooter tangled up with a bag of dog poo lying on the path. It spilled out and it was only by chance that we were near enough to prevent his shoes, scooter and the pavement being smeared in the muck. When picking blackberries on the common in the autumn I noticed bags of the stuff flung into the undergrowth. Parents were picking berries and handing them to their children. I wonder if they would have done so had they known how the bushes were manured. Some dog owners even hang it on railings like some kind of trophy. I did hear talk of a return of a dog licence. Has anything been decided about that? |
