| Ms Hollyday 'It would not surprise me if the crude oil is the main aim.' Do you really think that the US risks an oil shortage bearing in mind its own resources including shale based and its cosiness with the Arab states who will sell to anyone who promises them political and arms protection ? It's the UK under L'il Ed Milliband that is really at a risk of energy supply shortages. That is until we have re-engineered the grid to connect to the Chinese solar panels we plan to buy. As you point out Venezuela has a lot of the stuff but it is such a poorly run country it does not have the know how to get it out of the ground and into the market in quantities that would alleviate the suffering of its citizens. |
