Ivonne. Oil would seem to be the main objective. There's plenty of other leaders who have gained power through dubious elections - Putin in Russia? It also sets an interesting precedent. If a country takes exception to how a leader won an election is it an excuse to remove them? Perhaps it's an excuse for the Ukrainians to kidnap President Putin? OK, I know the practicalities make that unrealistic but it does set an interesting precedent, doesn't it? |
