Given that the retail 'industry' is dominated by giants, chains or whatever you like to call them, it's no surprise that most shopping streets, malls, centres, etc. look the same wherever you go. Why should Putney be any different? When Woolies closed,the site might have suited a consortium of independent retailers for use as an indoor market. But of course, it went to another chain with the financial muscle. |
