I'm no expert on heights but I'd put the altitude below the high flying traffic and well above the landing aircraft. No way is it 2000ft as this is only double the height helicopters fly. The only fixed wing aircraft you'd be likely to see over London at anything near that height is the flying eye (and they don't use a BN2) and that's not allowed anywhere near the Heathrow flight path anyway. The lens was a 400mm but using a 2x converter so in effect 800mm. Also the actual area in the frame is tiny but with my Nikon d700 this allows the high detail when cropped. If you saw the plane in the sky you'd be hard pushed to tell what it was other than a spec even with binoculars. |
