Did it look anything like this? BAA Heathrow use a plane like that (Beechcraft King Air) to check out the instrument landing systems. Maybe it was circling while they were making adjustments. At the time, the wind was south-easterly so I assume that landings were from the west, and therefore not affected by any such tests. The plane is a lot smaller than most airliners that land over Putney, so it would appear to be higher than it actually was. |
