I use to be a Council / Housing Association Tenant in the 1990's / early 2000's in West Sussex. I believe that you have a legal 'Right to Repair'. Seek advice from the Citizens' Advice Bureaux or the National Housing Federation (?).

I have a very dim view of Wandsworth Borough Council (WBC)- less than a 40w old fashioned incandescent light bulb ! I use to work outside in Tooting & Putney for a Contractor for WBC ! Due to the way that the Contract was arranged between WBC & my former employer I was made a Full-Time Freelance 'Jobseeker' ! The Union could do nothing for me because of the way that the Contract was arranged between WBC & my former employer ! Under Employment Legislation I had NO Employment Rights ! I will NEVER work in that field of employment again because of my bad experience of how I was so shabbily treated by WBC !
