| Where did I knock the US, Mr Hawkes? It's your strange imagination. My point was; if Farage spends so much time in the US, perhaps he could divert some investments to assist his constituents? I've a lot of time for US tech, having worked for a small US software house at one time - and without Cisco. Microsoft, Bell Labs, etc I'd probably never had a career. I am, of course, disappointed when great UK companies such as Darktrace end up in US hands, but if that's where the investment is, so be it. I agree a warehouse would provide employment - why do you image I suggested it? Your logic baffles me! of course, the introduction of robots and AI, etc will reduce such opportunities but will have the benefit of reducing prices for consumers. Unfortunately, with probably and even greater decline of retail outlets in High Streets. Yes, when large amounts of money was being thrown at "the Internet" Bezos had the business model and staying power to exploit it when many didn't really see how to make money from it - I'm sure AI will have a shake out soon. Fleur Anderson does do a lot of campaigning in Parliament on behalf of Putney: traffic/Hammersmith Bridge, Wimbledon Tennis Club Expansion, local amenities, etc; but I don't think Sue answered my question? |
