Israel is surrounded either by Islamic 'states' that gained power non-democratically, say Iran and Syria, or by territory controlled by rogue groups or Arab tribes, often funded by Iran. Hence the actions of the IDF to push Hezbollah back into Lebanon and set up some sort of cordon sanitaire against their further incursions. 'Will Iran strengthen its terrorist proxy Hezbollah which Israel seems to be pushing further back into Lebanon or will it really want to take on the power and might of Israel and the IDF in a straight fight ?' A valid question which you can't or won't answer. Personally I think Iran will be happy to let Hezbollah do its dirty work for it and take the consequent hits. And terrorism seems to be the biggest in not the only source of employment for such people. Bio-science, IT, hi-tech manufacturing at which Israel excels seemingly not yet taken up by its Arab neighbours. For, and this is not contradictory to what I have said above, Iran would definitely come out worse in a one to one fight with the IDF, especially with US backing of any sort,  which is why it uses women and children as human shields to protect its vulnerable infrastructure. Still, you keep rooting for and betting on the bad guys on PaddyPower in the big Israel/US vs Iran/Arabs head to head. If you are still confused, why not give up trying to defend the indefensible ? Wander down to the betting shop then spend your winnings on a few jars of Guinness.
