| Water is a monopoly with a guaranteed and increasing customer base. It should never have been privatised. According to the programme and the clip of Mrs Thatcher this was an experiment. Well it was a failed experiment because the infrastructure has never had the attention, oversight and updating that it needed. Instead there were owners asset stripping and dishing out dividends and those whose jobs it was to oversee and act to protect our rivers, lakes and waterways it seems weren't. Do make the effort to watch the programme. There's a link from the SAS website and it will be on Channel 4's watch again facility. |
