The justice system hasn't recovered from all the cuts and changes made.

It can take months and months before court appearances take place.

They don't have anything like the number of experienced and long-serving personnel that they used to have and the systems of calculating the lengths of sentences seems to have become more difficult.

Far too many people re-offend. It seems to have become like the US where such a huge percentage of the population are in  prison and where it can become difficult for people to break from repeat offending.
