| The justice system hasn't recovered from all the cuts and changes made. https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-politics/2019/01/chris-grayling-s-court-reforms-have-brought-our-justice-system-its-knees It can take months and months before court appearances take place. They don't have anything like the number of experienced and long-serving personnel that they used to have and the systems of calculating the lengths of sentences seems to have become more difficult. Far too many people re-offend. It seems to have become like the US where such a huge percentage of the population are in prison and where it can become difficult for people to break from repeat offending. |
