Violent crime is not, as some suggest, spiralling out of control. In fact, official statistics show that yhe long-term trend in violence with or without injury has been in significant decline since 1995.
And the knife crime figures are not out of control either: there was a fall in 2029/21, obviously as a result of the covid lockdowns, and although it has increased since then, it's still significantly below the 2019/20 level.
Awful though the Huntingdon attack was - and of course it was terrible - please try to keep a sense of persoective on this.
