| Mr Macleod 'to be critical of Israel's governbment and its policies is not antisematic. Prima facie this might be true. But - "I put it to the Jury. 1) It is only Israel that is ever singled out for criticism of its political and military actions. 2) Israel is the homeland of the Jews. 3) Israel's actions are to a very great extent democratically endorsed by its Jewish citizens and carried out in self-defence from attackers determined to annihilate it and its people. 4) What is antisemitism if not "hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people". 5) No Islamic country is ever criticised on the world stage nor by its fellow travelling supporters in the West for how it treats its citizens or neighbours. Be that country Iran, Syria, Saudi, Yemen, Palestine. All Islamic theocratic dictatorships". Hand on heart Mr Macleod, do you really think Israel is the country in the world MOST deserving of continuous criticism or is such criticism not tinged a teeny weeny bit by antisemitism ? |
